Mai Tai

The Mai Tai is one of the most famous tropical, or “tiki”-style, cocktails. The origin of the cocktail’s name is said to be the Tahitian word maita’i , meaning good .

2 ounces aged rum

¾ ounce freshly squeezed lime juice

½ ounce triple sec

¼ ounce orgeat

Mint sprig, for garnish

Combine the rum, lime juice, triple sec, and orgeat in a cocktail shaker. Whip-shake the cocktail by adding a few ice cubes and shaking until the cubes dissolve. Fill a rocks glass with crushed ice. Pour the cocktail into the glass and garnish with a sprig of mint.
